CBD vs THC: What’s the Difference?

We get these questions all the time: “What’s the difference between CBD and THC?” or “Is CBD the same as Marijuanas?” and even “Is CBD a drug or not?”.

The easiest way to understand the difference between CBD and THC is that CBD helps to balance your reaction to things like pain and stress and THC helps with more severe symptoms. Keep reading for more.

The long way: CBD, also known as cannabidiol, is the second most abundant active compound found in cannabis, commonly known as marijuana. Unlike some other components of marijuana, CBD is extracted from the hemp plant, a close relative of marijuana, or produced in a laboratory setting. It’s important to note that CBD alone does not induce a psychoactive “high.” According to a report by the World Health Organization, “CBD in humans does not demonstrate any potential for abuse or dependence… So far, there is no documented evidence of any public health issues associated with the use of pure CBD.”

If you have chronic issues, like arthritis, high stress, or an anxiety disorder, then CBD as a daily regimen is a smart way to go. Taking CBD as a daily supplement, your body has the ability to learn a balanced response to things like pain and stress.

Sometimes our bodies are so off-balance that instead of helping them find balance on their own, we need to give an extra push ( as a boost) in the right direction. This is where THC can be helpful and beneficial. If you’re having a stressful work week and need help falling asleep at night, or perhaps letting off some steam, then THC might be right for you. THC can also be beneficial for easing our response to pain. If you’ve tried CBD for your pain but feel like you need something stronger, THC might be right for you.
